The Male counterpart of Miss Universe has come to a satisfying conclusion with the election of Neil Perez as the 9th Mister International and the Philippines’ first!
Finally the Philippines has won the coveted Mister International 2014/15 edition! Although marred by controversies, (the pageant was in a state of disarray since the postponement of the pageant thrice which led to many candidates dropping out of the competition and trimmed down the roster to 29 (excluding Argentina who backed out 2 days before the finals for undisclosed reason)but as the adage goes, “The Show Must go on”.
This is the first time in the history of any beauty pageant that a Filipino representative had opted to use an interpreter during the Q and A portion. Failure to respect his parents, and having realized the importance of respecting and honoring our parents as one of God’s 10 commandments, was Neil’s answer to the question “What has been your biggest disappointment in life?” captivated the panel of judges and made him the winner!
The pageant was webcast live on the internet on Valentines day which led to the delight of many pageant followers (especially the Filipinos in general) since Neil Perez has become a pivotal pageant sensation from the minute he joined his National pageant leading up to his crowning in Ansan, South Korea.
