THE TOP 12 SEMI-FINALISTS:
CAINTA, RIZAL (Troy Cuizon)
QUEZON CITY (John Edward Custodio)
FIL- JAPAN (Jeffrey Yamanouchi)
CEBU CITY (John Paul Preston)
DUMAGUETE CITY (Wilfred Placencia)
LAPU LAPU CITY (Gil Wagas)
PILA LAGUNA (Ronald Kim Legaspi)
NEGROS (Billy Villeta)
SURIGAO DEL NORTE (Frenchie Bonn Petallo)
BACOLOD CITY (Jeffrey Sanchez)
BUKIDNON (William Goniabo)
CAVITE (via online voting – Bon Edouard Quinto)
My Thoughts: Not really a surprising line-up of semi-finalists! 8 of our Top 12 picks were able to make it plus our 3 strong Alternates where able to exceed our expectations! after the pre-pageant CEBU CITY’s John Preston had really made a strong impression thus putting him in the final line-up. BUKIDNON’s placement is not a shock since the guy has all the attributes for a semi-final placement and DUMAGUETE CITY’s rep was a revelation placing as 1st runner-up is a great achievement! Wilfred even left his compatriot, who was touted as a frontrunner, out of the Top 6! (I still can’t believe NEGROS’ Billy Villeta didn’t advance further) So to sum it all the major surprise was the inclusion of SURIGAO DEL NORTE who I considered a long shot but I guess I didn’t see what the judges saw in him, and that’s fine!
Shocking Exclusions: Whatever happened to PARANAQUE and BULACAN who were strong contenders since the beginning? Did they lag behind in the interview portion? Did attitude and professionalism play a role? or was it because both had the exposure in joining several bikini competitions in the metro? but would that be even enough to hurt their chances? I can’t fathom these petty reasons because these 2 guys are equally gorgeous and are more deserving than a few in the Top 12!
About the winner: I have no complaints here, I knew it all along that Gil Wagas is the rightful representative for Mister International, he’s the best! I think I’ve already said a lot about him in our previous Rounds! Big congratulations Gil, next stop is Mister International and I’m confident you can do it, even winning the title is within reach!
To the organizers: PEP has done a remarkable job indeed! Very commendable and superb production, the stage was awesome! You guys had really up the ante’, I’ll be looking forward for Manhunt Philippines later this year I’m sure it’s going to be amazing!!
